The monthly salary range for the position is $4,528 - $6,091, plus a comprehensive benefit package. This position remains open until all vacancies are filled.

 

Job Description: Telecommunicator

Telecommunicator Testing and Application Process:

  1. Individuals who wish to apply for any current or future Telecommunicator positions must first sign-up and complete skills testing with Public Safety Testing (PST).  Individuals who successfully complete testing will be placed on a candidate list with PST. PST will provide RiverCom with notification of successful testers.

  2. RiverCom will notify selected candidates as to when they may submit an application packet to RiverCom for further consideration.

  3. Applicants will be asked to complete CritiCall testing, this can be done from home. A sit-in/job shadow may also be scheduled with the candidate as part of the process.
  4. Applicants who are selected to move forward will be contacted by RiverCom and invited to participate in an oral interview.

  5. Successful interviewees may receive a Conditional Offer of Employment or may be placed on an Eligibility List for up to one year should positions become available.

  6. A background investigation process will begin upon acceptance of a Conditional Offer of Employment:​

    1. Thorough background investigation

    2. Psychological testing

    3. Medical exam and Drug Screening

Lateral Telecommunicator/Dispatcher candidates within Washington State do not need to take the Public Safety Testing (PST). A lateral candidate is an individual who has previous fulltime dispatch experience with a 911 Communication Center in the areas of Law, Fire and EMS, and have not been away from dispatching for more than two years. Individuals who are interested in applying for the Telecommunicator position should visit the Public Safety Testing website to view our agency profile, obtain further information about testing, and sign-up for test dates.  Public Safety Testing offers testing dates at different locations and times throughout the state.  Contact Public Safety Testing for information about other optional testing dates and locations not mentioned here, including out-of-state testing.  Public Safety Testing may also be contacted at 1-866-HIRE-911.  You must select RiverCom for us to receive your testing results.
